The Challenge
A general contractor building a multi-building corporate campus north of Orlando needed a long-term portable sanitation partner for the full 12-month construction timeline. The project involved over 200 workers at peak staffing across multiple phases of construction — from site preparation and foundation work through framing, mechanical, and finish-out.
The contractor's requirements were clear:
- Full OSHA compliance throughout the 12-month project (29 CFR 1926.51)
- Enough units for 200+ workers at peak, with flexibility to scale up or down as crew sizes changed
- ADA-compliant units for site accessibility
- Handwashing facilities near both restroom clusters and the break area
- Reliable weekly servicing — no missed visits, no excuses
- Units repositioned as the active work zone shifted across the campus footprint
Our Solution
Pure Clean Porta Potty Rental designed a flexible sanitation plan that adapted to the project's evolving needs over the full 12-month duration.
Unit Inventory
- 15 standard portable restrooms — Distributed across 3 restroom clusters on the construction site
- 3 ADA-compliant portable restrooms — One at each cluster for full accessibility
- 4 portable hand wash stations — Placed near restroom clusters and the centralized break area
This configuration exceeded OSHA's minimum requirement of 7 units for 200 workers, providing the comfort margin that keeps workers satisfied and reduces wait times during breaks.
Flexible Scaling
Months 1-3: Site Preparation
Crew of approximately 80 workers. We started with 8 standard units, 1 ADA unit, and 2 hand wash stations in a single cluster near the site entrance.
Months 4-8: Peak Construction
Crew peaked at 220+ workers across the full campus footprint. We scaled to the full 18-unit deployment across 3 clusters, repositioning units as active work areas shifted from Building A to Buildings B and C.
Months 9-12: Interior Finish-Out
Crew reduced to approximately 120 workers as trades completed interior work. We consolidated to 2 clusters with 12 units, removing excess units to reduce the contractor's costs while maintaining OSHA compliance.
Weekly Servicing — Every Week, Without Fail
Over 12 months, our service team made 52 weekly visits to the site — every single Tuesday morning at 6:00 AM, before the crew arrived. Each visit included:
- Full pump-out of all holding tanks
- Interior cleaning and sanitizing of every unit
- Restocking toilet paper, hand sanitizer, and deodorizer
- Inspection and minor repairs (door latches, ventilation, etc.)
- Hand wash station water refill, soap, and towel restocking
During the summer months (May through September), we added a second mid-week service visit at no extra charge to account for Florida's heat and increased usage. The contractor didn't even have to ask — our team proactively recommended and implemented the upgraded schedule based on our experience with construction site sanitation in Central Florida.

📍 Getting to the Project Area
The corporate campus construction site was located north of Orlando, approximately 20 minutes from downtown via Interstate 4.
From our Orlando location: Head north on I-4 toward Altamonte Springs. Take the exit for FL-434 and head west for approximately 3 miles. The construction site was located in a developing commercial corridor on the north side of the road. Total drive time is approximately 20 minutes.
